So, I decided I wanted to blog. I just simply wanted to share my experiences with wine, with the world. Simple, right? WRONG!!! All I knew for sure that I needed was the cute stuff and I knew someone who could help me. Need a website. Check. My daughter is a Brand Designer. Easy. Okay, gonna need colors for my website. Check. Did I mention my daughter’s a Brand Designer who runs her own business (www.phenomenamedia.co)? Super Easy and she sold pre-mades so she doesn’t have to work too hard, wouldn’t want that. I did those parts months ago…..

Dear Sweet Reader,

So, I decided I wanted to blog. I just simply wanted to share my experiences with wine, with the world. Simple, right? WRONG!!! All I knew for sure that I needed was the cute stuff and I knew someone who could help me. Need a website. Check. My daughter is a Brand Designer. Easy. Okay, gonna need colors for my website. Check. Did I mention my daughter’s a Brand Designer who runs her own business (www.phenomenamedia.co)? Super Easy and she sold pre-mades so she doesn’t have to work too hard, wouldn’t want that. I did those parts months ago. It was fun sitting on the sidelines picking colors and providing feedback on logos. Okay, I’m ready! No mom you’re not. What? Not really loving my Brand Designer anymore, you need to research, and you need to start generating traffic. Huh???? Then she suggests using social media most every day to begin to generate interest. Okay?!$%$# I can do that. Already had a Twitter, already had Instagram, already on Facebook. And I can connect them all. Easy. Now I just need those for Sweet Brown Girl. Easy. Now, what do I talk about? Wine. Easy. I drink Wine and when I don’t drink wine, I can use memes and just post bottles. I can do that. WRONG!!! Again. Planning content is hard and making sure I’m posting regularly, whew! Harder than I thought. I start off spotty, get more consistent, get the push from a friend for Christmas and now I’m all in. Finally, pick a launch date 1/1/22. Got it, well that was unreasonable. What will I talk about, that’s new? No problem. Pick a new launch date 2/2/22. That’s cute. And it will give me time to plan new content. So, I plan a trip to Erie. Create an Itinerary. Make overnight arrangements. Get business cards, so that people will know I’m legit and of course, they’re cute. Head to Erie for the weekend to taste wine, buy bottles, talk to people, take lots of pics, take notes, take more pictures, have fun, eat good and now I have content. I’m ready. No mom, you’re not. WHAT? Where’s the research? I need the content and structure of what you want on your website. Huh? Don’t you just build a website? Yes, I build but it’s your job to tell me what you want. Ohhhhhhhh and it will need pics. I got pics. I took pics all weekend. Of other people, of stuff, of me with people. No mom. Really? I’m tired of No mom, maybe I should have hired someone else to assist with this project. You will need pictures of yourself, and they should be nice. People will need to see you. It’s your blog. No way. I HATE taking pics. So, I reach out to another friend, she’s a photographer (amongst other things, @Ms. Knowitall creations), and explain my situation. She quotes me a price, we pick a day and time, I select a place. Whew. Okay mom, what are you wearing for your photoshoot? Really! More to-dos. Thankfully my daughter had a prescheduled visit home, and she helps me with wardrobe and makeup. And Cansa made me laugh and smile during the shoot, so it didn’t feel so awkward. Now I have pics and I’m ready to go. Okay mom, WHERE’S THE RESEARCH? Ummmmm, I’m still working on that. I have already discovered that I won’t just be blogging about wine but my experiences while enjoying the glass. So, it will be a personal blog, where I share my experiences with wine, the places I go and the people I meet along the way.

Stayed tuned, more to come. Can’t wait to share my adventures from Erie.

Sincerely,

Sabrina

P.S. Thank You J, without your input, guidance and direction, I would have given up on this project a long time ago.

    1. I’m glad you hear my voice, I wanna be as authentic as possible. Other posts will be more polished but in my behind-the-scenes posts, they will always be a stream of consciousness where I literally talk to my readers.

  1. Beautiful sounds like a wonderful and tasty venture. I love wine too. Would love to do some wine tasting.

Congratulations in your new venture. Having your daughter as a brand and fashion guide is bug, they know a lot! Love it!

    1. It has been a tasty venture because alongside good wine, usually comes great food. Stay tuned for my upcoming post about my first food and wine pairing at Narcisi Winery in Gibsonia. It was absolutely amazing!

  2. What a great idea, Sabrina! Who knew it would be so intensive with so much to do and plan before going live. Kudos and congrats for sticking to your dream.

    1. Exactly! Who knew? I sure didn’t, but it has actually been fun learning and challenging myself in new ways with technology. Pretty soon I’ll be able to use social media like the millennials. Well maybe not soon but eventually.

    1. Technically I’m still considered wine-curious. I don’t think anyone is ever really an expert because what I’ve learned so far is the world of wine is ever-evolving and so is your palette. On this leg of my journey, I prefer sweet wines but recently I tried a semi-sweet chardonnay during a food and wine event and it’s led me down a whole new path.

  3. My brother recommended I might like this website.
He was totally right. This post actually made my day. You can not imagine just how much time I had spent for this information! Thanks!

  4. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your
articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all.
Nevertheless imagine if you added some great graphics or video clips to give your
posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this
site could undeniably be one of the most beneficial in its field.
    Amazing blog!
